‘The Sheriff’ Stands Out In Stourport Race – 6th August

Newport Shropshire Cycling Club’s Omar Hussein scored his first British Cycling licence points when he came fourth in the Beacon RCC circuit race at Stourport in the West Midlands.

The action packed race took place on a purpose made 1km circuit over 45 minutes plus 5 laps.  Although he’s ridden a few road races, this was Omar’s first try at circuit racing, so to get placed was very impressive.

Omar said “I was a bit nervous because I know these races can be quite hairy.  I kept myself out of trouble by riding at the front and it paid off.  I was second out of the last bend and only two riders managed to pass me before the line.”
