Points System

There are 7 events, but only the best 5 results count. Completion of all 7 events though, will result in a bonus of 7 points.

The scoring is as follows…

  • Non competitive events such as the Reliability Ride and Sportive – 20 points awarded to all who complete the event.

  • Competitive events, a minimum of 1 point is awarded for completing the event. In addition points are awarded for your position relative to the other Newport members, so…

1st Newport rider gets 20 points

2nd Newport rider gets 19 points

3rd Newport rider gets 18 points etc.

So, if all 7 events are completed, the maximum points you can get is 107.

The competition is open to all current Newport (Shropshire) Cycling Club members only.
