Club Runs

Newport Shropshire Cycling Club hold a road club run every Sunday from the square at the top of St Mary Street, departing at 9-30am. Depending on numbers there is sometimes two groups of riders to cater for all abilities, both stopping at the same cafe. New riders are always welcome.

There will be a ride to a close destination (ie around 10 miles from Newport) for newcomers, and anyone wanting an easier ride, on the first Sunday of each month. Faster group to meet at the same cafe.

A's - Distance is 45 - 60 miles with an average speed of 16mph.

B's - Distance is 35 - 40 miles with an average speed of 13 mph.

Members are requested not to ride more than two abreast. The correct way to merge into single file is for the person on the inside to accelerate slightly, allowing the outside rider to tuck behind

We also organise a Mountain Bike ride at least once a month which departs from various locations.

• 5/9/2010 - Birches Valley, Lady Hill, Rugeley, Staffordshire, WS15 2UQ - 10am - There will be an easy and a harder group ride. (Cafe open from 9am)
