It’s not all about cycling you know! Newport Cycling Club members have a very active social life when they let their hair down and enjoy some time off the bike…
Once a month members and friends of Newport CC descend on The Wheatsheaf public house in Chetwynd Aston to allow us all to catch up on everything cycling related.
The gathering takes place on every first Tuesday of every month, from 8pm onwards. You don’t have to be a member of the club to show your face, so please drop in as we would love to meet you.
Barbecue | Hog Roast
There is no better way to celebrate the good old British summer! This year’s hog roast is scheduled to coincide with Stage 15 of the Tour de France, when we shall watch the Maillot Jaune and all the other climbers tackle Mt. Ventoux.
So, on the Sunday 14th July 2013, with the morning’s club run concluded, we will be heading for a lunchtime rendezvous at The Pheasant on Newport High Street, where we will witness the worlds best athletes do battle on le big-screen.
Annual Dinner & Presentation Evening
With the cycling season having drawn to a close, everyone looks forward to the long awaited club dinner and annual awards ceremony.
With a special guest speaker from the cycling world presenting the trophies to those who have achieved most throughout the year and with a variety of very different entertainment, the occasion is one not to be missed!
Nearly forgot to mention that we do actually cycle too! So, if you fancy joining one of our social rides on a Sunday morning, through the pleasant and beautiful Shropshire countryside, then please come along to meet us in the heart of Newport, as we would love to meet you!
Remember to keep your eyes on the Calendar!
